The TAM (technical account manager) is the bridge between engineering and business. We are looking for someone passionate about media / ad tech who can lead the technical interactions with media customers in Japan/Asia. Knowledge of analytics, complex data sources, ETL and enterprise SaaS setups will be required as well as possessing fundamental communication skills to manage customers demands. Typically, the position is suited for sales engineers or support engineers eager to work directly with the customer in the area of business analysis and data management.

A fundamental responsibility here would be to provide oversight between engineering and customers, enforcing high quality standards of our deliverables. You will be asked to build a working knowledge of engineering and complex aspects of our products; answer complex questions on function and usage; and solve sales support problems. Naturally, you will become an expert in the features, benefits and the various applications of our products to solve business problems. Furthermore, you'll also prepare and perform product demos and prototypes for existing or new prospect customers, providing implementation support throughout.

We are seeking candidates who are able to work proficiently in startup environments and understand B2B saas dynamics.

What you’ll be doing (Responsibilities):

  • Take full responsibility for managing the on-going demands from our new opportunities and existing accounts by prioritising requirements and development resources to ensure clairty and high-quality deliverables.
  • Take time to research and understand the essence of the customer's business problem to discuss internally and develop a product-focused solution
  • Propose new product features and structures that will help improve the product and its adoption by the customers
  • Work with internal testers and developers to deliver stable releases for customer UAT
  • Develop and close new sales opportunities through general evangelism, introductory meetings, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, upsell processes for existing accounts
  • Provide proactive support and engagement with customers
  • Manage the priorities of the technical support team and basic administration of the Japan office

Who you are (Qualifications/Experience):

  • Data tech savvy: you are the problem-solving kind that doesn’t shy away from using available resources or technologies to get things done. Customers will be asking us to solve data-related problems that could impact largely their sales or costs.
  • Experienced: 5+ years experience in a technical sales or technical support role, or as an integration/sales engineer working closely with sales.
  • Enjoys communicating: ability to listen to customer needs in detail, discuss these needs internally, and actively present proposals to technical audiences.
  • Goal Driven: A proven track record delivering on time and hitting sales goals.
  • Tech skills (must have): Experience using APIs, SQL and basic testing technologies (In-browser debugging, Postman, LambdaTest, etc.)
  • Tech skills (nice-to-have): Experience with at least one server-side language (Python, Java or Scala) and with AWS data-related services.
  • Team player: You’re very good at what you do and even better at working with the team to tackle customer problems.
  • Bilingual: Japanese native fluency and English proficiency is required.
  • Extras: Experience in data analysis, online video or ad tech space preferred. A B.Sc. in Computer Science or a relevant experience is strongly preferred.

Package:

  • salary: from 7,000,000 JPY upwards with scope to increase dependent on experience
  • bonus: up to 15% of net revenues from new sales to be revised annually

This position is located in our Tokyo Shinagawa office, but due to COVID19, a large part of this will be remote working, and with occasional travel to our UK headquarters. The office is located 5 minutes walking distance from JR Osaki station.
